Mason: A Totally Different Kid

BEFORE VISION THERAPY

Everything was a struggle for Mason. He had gotten very behind in school, even after six months of tutoring. He avoided reading or anything to do with homework like the plague. You could tell he was very stressed about school and just didn’t know how to deal with it. It was very hard to watch. It affected his confidence in everything.

AFTER VISION THERAPY

Mason is a totally different kid! He has gained so much confidence and LOVES school now. He reads aloud from the white board at school voluntarily and willingly reads by himself at home. His meltdowns have decreased significantly. He is a happier kid all around. Thank you is not enough to Dr. Oakland and Jeannette. We will always remember you and will forever be thankful!

Marc: Reads Just For Fun Now

BEFORE VISION THERAPY

We always had known Marc was a smart kid but could never understand why he struggled with school and despised reading. After our initial evaluation with Dr. Oakland, we were flabbergasted at how Marc had been seeing the world with his double vision, despite being “20/20”. No wonder why he struggled…words were moving all over the page. However, he never knew that was not “normal” because that is all he had ever known!

AFTER VISION THERAPY

Not only have Marc’s grades improved, but his reading comprehension and desire to read have improved as well! He no longer sees moving words and has actually picked up a book just for fun! Vision Therapy also helped Marc in his sports…it is a lot easier to score when you only see one puck or one baseball! I would have no hesitation recommending Vision Therapy to anyone!

Emma: Improvements In All Aspects of Learning

BEFORE VISION THERAPY

Emma has always struggled with headaches, reading, writing and spelling. Homework was always a nightmare due to these issues. We would be about five minutes into homework and she would instantly complain of headaches and eye pain. She also got letters backwards a lot which was frustrating to us but Emma didn’t understand what she was doing wrong. Attention in the classroom was a huge struggle as well. Comprehension after reading was not there because she was straining so hard to figure out what the words were.

AFTER VISION THERAPY

Since completion of Vision Therapy, Emma has improved in all aspects of learning! Her writing has improved greatly along with comprehension of stories. She has come so far with her lefts and rights. Headaches have decreased greatly which is great because now she can stay more focused during homework time. We are really hopeful for continued improvement with reading and writing during school this year along with an improved attention span in the classroom.
